What age do you get your period?

Question:
i am 10 if that helps

Answers:
Anywhere from 10-16. It all depends on your body. You will get it when your body is ready.
You will get your period when your body is ready. I got mine at 11, if that is any help at all.

I have talked to a couple of athletes that are in their 20's and havent even gotten their period yet. That is due to the amount of exercise they go through.

Dont worry about it, it will come in its own time. In the meantime, enjoy not having one! :)
When I was 12, don't wish for it, it's hell
Some girls can get it when they're 7, others get it when they're 18. It varies. I got mine when I was 12, and so did my mother and grandmother. You can ask your mom or other female relatives when they got theirs for a general idea. In the meantime, be happy that you're young and period-free because having a period is not very comfortable...
I was almost 9, and although I knew what it was I was afraid to tell my mom. Three days later I fell and had to go to the doctor and they asked if I had gotten my period. Of course my mother was in there and I said yes and she said no. Looking back it's funny now but I was so embarrassed at the time. So not only did I have a broken butt bone the doctor checked to make sure I hadn't torn anything when I fell, I couldnt convince them that my period had started days before I fell and that it wasn't an injury. But sure enough I was right.
You get your period when your body goes through puberty. The age at which you actually get it depends on a lot of factors, like exersize (i.e., athletes usually delay theirs by the rigorous training they do), nutrition (e.g., if you have poor nutrition, your body may delay you getting your period in order to grow and maintain your body instead), and genetics (i.e., when your mother got her period is a pretty good indicator of when you will get yours).

I've included a link below to help you understand the signs of puberty.
the average age is from 11-13. however, some get it as early as 8, others at 16. it all depends on the person. ive heard it usually comes about two years after breast development begins, which is pretty much true. i got mine a little late-a few months before turning 14. trust me, you should cherish life without it...=)
9. what a drag that was
14 is when I got mine
