yes it is possible to get an infection that way, that is also why you are not supposed to take baths.too much moisture in the vagina is bad for it and that helps it obtain bacteria...when you put the water into it, it washes out the normal healthy bacteria that helps clean your vagina to keep it healthy
If you have a detachable shower head and aim it so that water if forced up into your vagina, then that interferes with the natural vaginal balance and can lead to infection. If you're just letting water hit the outside bits & pieces, at an angle that is not likely to push water inside, than you should be fine.
