Anyone using or used ortho tri-cyclen please tell me your experience and side effects!

Answers:
I switched from lo to the orthro tri-cyclen as well, and had to switch back. I had spotting for a year, miserable mood swings, ended up with acne (which I hadn't had before), as well as a few other problems. I switched originally to help with bad cramps, but it didn't fix that either, so I went back.

I know that doesn't sound hopeful, but remember that every body is different. It didn't work for me, but that doesn't mean it won't work out for you. As for weight gain, remember that just as many women loose weight as the number who gain weight. It all depends on how your body reacts to the different level of hormones. If you doctor thinks a switch was appropriate, you just have to trust his/her opinion and try it. You can always go back and re-evaluate if it isn't working for you.
I wasn't on it, but my friend was and she didn't seem to gain any weight while taking it. Btw, once your body gets used to the pill, you usually don't gain anymore weight and it's not like it's hard to lose it in the first place.

The only side effect my friend had with Both Ortho Tri-cyclen and the Lo, was that she was bleeding heavily between her periods [and she wasn't pregnant]..
You can look up possible side effects, because it's going to vary from woman to woman. Just because someone on here has weight gain (or not), doesn't mean you will!
I never got side effects with ortho tri-cyclen. I had never been on the lo, only the regular at 17 when I started taking birth control. When I started, it regulated my period and I used to only get it 2-3 days. The only time I ever had problems was when I started depo-provera. If the ortho-tri cyclen does not work - I suggest staying far away from depo.
