Period question????

When you first start your period, it isn't as red as it will be later on. Discharge is very common in women, so discharge isn't a sure-fire way to tell. Keep a calender, you menstrate every 28 days. You can approximate when your period is coming to take precaution.
you always get some "discharge" ( not a great word by the way hahaha) when your about to get your periods..it's normal..the color? who care's it's DISCHARGE! hihihi might as well laugh about it..!!
don't worry your normal...atthe beginning you may not be regular in your periods..but your body will ajust
hang in there!! and welcome to womenhood!
That is normal, your body is just regulating itself and your periods will become more regular over the next few years. Discharge can be clear, white or brown and is different depending on where you are in your cycle--but you don't really have a regular cycle yet so nothing is predictable. It all works itself out though :)
It varies from woman to woman. It varies from period to period in each woman sometims. If you just had your first one last month, you may not get one for two months, so don't be too surprised if you don't. But discharge can be clear, an off-white, slightly brown, or pink, and can happen up to two weeks before you get your period.
If it's thick or looks like cottage cheese, it's not your period, it's a yeast infection and you need to see a GYN.
It is possible to not be regular for a while after you have you first period. The drownish dischare could very well be a very light period, and that is normal to have them now and them. Since you just started your homones are going crazy and just need time to ajust to the changes in your body.
How ever if you have other discharge like thick white, yellow greenish anythig not normal you need to see a doctor, it might be a infection which is very common in woman, some times the discharge is the first sign ng is wrong.
its perfectly fine when my period starts my 1st day the discharge is brown and when im ending its also brown.U should keep track of ur period every 28 days fromt he 1st day of ur period.that way u kno when its coming dotn freak out everything is fine!you will probably get ur period soon it will be a month and it comes every month so its fine.Just prepapre urslef for it again!GooD luck
RE the first comment: You do NOT menstruate every 28 days, especially not when you first start your period. Your body won't get into an exact pattern for about a year, and even then it's not 28 days for every girl. For instance, last year I got mine every 29 days, and now I've been getting them ever 40 days or so. I think the amount of time between periods can also be determined by changes in weight, exercise, diet, sexual activity, etc.
Discharge can happen for *ages* before your period, so that's no help in determining when it's coming. The color can range from clear, to white, to a pinkish color, to a really nasty brown that will stain and won't even come out with hydrogen peroxide like blood does. If you have brown discharge, I'd suggest investing in some panty liners. After a few periods, you'll get used to how your body feels when you are about to start your period and you won't even need discharge as an indicator.
