Early Menapause? Perimenapause? Premenapause? Whatever It's Called.?
Question:
Answers:
It's called perimenopause, which is the stage before real menopause hits, which could be several years before.
It sounds more like a hormone imbalance. Hormones will give you hot flashes even when menopause isn't the issue, just ask pregnant women or PMSing women.
It's not normal to go 3 months without bleeding. At this point, you really should go in for a hormone analysis. If one of them is off, they can give you meds to fix it. Also, have them check your thyroid function. A hypo/hyperactive thyroid will throw off your cycles as well.
Good luck.
ive heard that you can have menopause symptoms ten years before you actually go through it.
You don't mention if you have regular physicals, but I would suggest you do so. It is not impossible for you to be experiencing what you state, but there are other culprits that could be the cause -- some of which are quite serious. Please see a doctor.
I am not a Doctor but I did have a similar condition some years back. I was told it was an ovary failure (did not release an egg) due to stress. I was put on birth control pills temporarily and once the pills were gone (one month) my periods returned. You should see a Doctor since you are too young to be in menopause.
