Swimming in lake water on your period?

Question:
is it safe? is it the same as pool?
i have heard that lake water could do something to you if u swim in it while ur on ur period? is it ture? could u get an infection or something??

of course you would wear a tampon, but what do the different sizes mean?

Answers:
Wear a tampon but change it immediately after swimming. Tampon brand is pure preference whether its pearl tampax, kotex, OB, or the generic brand. Personally I like the plastic applicator. Read the insert if youre unsure about tampon use. Do not leave them in longer than 4-6 hrs or the bacteria could build up in the tampon and you could get TSS (Toxic shock syndrome) that could cause death. Also dont use a super if youre in the last days of your period. Most periods start off heavy and fade to light in about 3-10 days. If you have a very heavy period where you are saturating a regular absorbancy tampon in an hour or two you might need the super those first few days. I usually use the regulars and just change them frequently because the supers are bigger and arent very comfortable with cramps (again personal preference) As long as you do not leave them in for longer than 4-6 hrs and do not use a scented kind you should be fine
It's safe to swim in a lake as well as a pool while you're on your period. It shouldn't hurt anything. The different sizes of tampons is determined by how heavy or light your flow is. Heavy periods-super tampons, lighter flows-slender. I use all of them throughout my period. As far as brands, they're pretty much all the same, but I'm not too fond of the O.B.'s.
It is completely safe to swim in a lake, ocean or pool when you are on your period. The sizes are based on your flow of blood. If you are at the end of your period, you probably want a regular or slim tampon. If you are just starting, you probably want a super or regular. If you check on the box they will thell you how much they can absorb.
As for brands, I really do not think it matters. I usually get Tampax Pearls. I just like them. But if I am going somewhere and I start it, I get what ever the store carries. It is all preference. No that all tampons carry the rish of causing TTS. This is a very serious condition. Make sure you change them out at least every 8 hours.
As long as you wear a tampon you will be fine.
