It is a yeast infection. It is called this because yeast infections resembles cottage cheese. Now of course this is usually said in a derogatory manner in which the infection has been let go and spread to such a massive 'lump' that it looks like the cottage cheese when you first open the container (of cottage cheese). It is usually directed towards 'dirtier' types of people.
