Birth control?

Question:
i didn't have my birth control pills sunday when i started my period. i skipped my sunday pill (number1) and took my monday pill (number 2) on monday. is this ok? will the pills still work properly after a week or so? i asked a similar question earlyer, and got mixed results. some said to take the monday and skip sunday, and some said no, start with the first and keep going

Answers:
Your pills will still be effective even though you didn't take your first one on the first day of your period or on a Sunday. This might however, effect the time in which you get your next period. This means that your period might come after your second or third inactive pill. I wouldn't worry about this too much. If things are unpredictable (your period) give it a month or so and things should return back to normal.
I am no expert but I believe the pills that are for your period are basically "sugar pills" not that they are made of sugar but that they really don't do anything. Of course I could be wrong it has been years since I have been on the pill.
man ive done the same thing...and it sucks i hate getting off. My suggestion to be for sure that they work is to wait til the new cycle and begin again. Once you mess up your ovulation for the month you cant really go back. Its ok to mess up youll be fine next month but i would be careful because it may not work as effectivly. Just start with a new month...thats what i always did.
continue on schedule as you are dispose of missed pill !
if you skipped one pill, you should take two the next day, one in the morning and another one at night. then continue the 3rd one as usual. what i was told by a doctor last time is, no matter how, there is still a risk if you missed taking one at regular hours though the chances of getting pregnant is very low. but so far, everything is ok.
I have pasted the URL for the FAQ's page from Ortho Tri-Cyclen's website below.

But not having read it, here's my input:

Are you taking the inactive (green) pills the week of your period? Then it doesn't matter at all as these pills have nothing in them.

If you are taking the active pills, I would suggest going ahead and finishing the month as is, but if you're sexually active use a second form of birth-control the rest of the month, such as condoms (which I hope you're using anyway to decrease your chances of contracting an STD).

In the future, when you miss a pill, it is suggested that you double-up the next day and carry on business as usual. If you were to miss two pills in a row, double-up for two days and then use a second form of birth control for the rest of the month.

It's been years since I've used BCP's. I prefer getting a shot in the rear every three months (Depo) and not worrying about my period at all...
I am on Ortho Tri cyclen lo too. You are supposed to take the very first pill ALWAYS. If you missed Sunday pill # 1. You take it as soon as you remember. In your case that should have been monday. Then you also take Monday's pill on Monday at the usual time you take your pills. The you continue taking them on schedule. You should never ever skip pills. You could get pregnant from doing that. Always take your pills in the order they are in the pack. If you miss one, take it as soon as you remember and then take the one you're supposed to take that day also.
