Simple question about birth control pills?

Question:
I've been taking birth control pills (Ortho-TriCyclen Lo) for the past 9 months to protect against pregnancy. However, my boyfriend is abroad for the next 4 months so I don't think I really need to take them until he comes back. Do you agree? Because it's a bit expensive and isn't fully covered in my insurance. However, I have a bunch of refills left so i was planning to retake them about a month or so before he comes home.

I know that it regulates periods and such, but my period is regular even w/out taking the pill. Let me know what you think. Thank you!

Answers:
You should be continually taking it. When you stop, and then start back up, it will be like starting it all over again and could screw your schedule up. Even though you were regular before you got on the pill, you are on it now and stopping it may end up not having your periods regular.

I wouldn't chance it. Keep taking them.
Your period could still get out of whack from being on them for so long. If you know for a fact that your periods will be right, and that you won't be having sex with anyone else while he is gone, it is safe to quit until a month before he gets back. It is best to always consult your physician, but my guess is that you will be just fine.
If the only reason you're taking you pills is to prevent pregnancy and no other health reason then go right ahead and stop it. But when you do choose to be intimate again, i suggest take it a month before your bf comes home and as added precaution use condom.

Ortho comes in generic form called trinessa which i take.i had triwest for insurance and paid 3 bucks for it.
kepp taking them cuz your body will get all messed up
You need to keep taking them. If you stop your periods will more then likely become irregular.
I would suggest staying on your birth control pills to ensure maximum protection. If cost is an issue, perhaps you should talk to your doctor about a lower cost alternative. Anytime you stop taking the pill, then start again, it takes at least one full cycle for the pills to 'kick' back in. Hope this helped.
I'd just keep taking them.

If you take a break then start them again you will have the same problems that you had when you first started this pill. If it took a couple of months to settle into this pill before, then you'll have another couple of months of the same thing again.

What happens if he comes home early?
