It's not easy trying to explain a personal problem with a man. I'm sure your dad will help you anyway he can, but if you would feel better why not ask the mom of a friend or an aunt, cousin, good friend to explain the problem to your dad.
Your body may be just getting rid of old blood (old blood is very dark and the smell is not very nice). This happens to many girls but I know it must have scared you and for that reason you should see a doctor and he/she will tell you about what to expect when you have your period. You did exactly the right thing.you didn't know who to talk to so you asked

its normal to have spotting between periods, but since this has lasted a few weeks, something could be wrong. i'd go ask your dad to take you to a doctor.
had that too, dried blood. but not for acouple weeks, go to the doctors!!
It's most likely just old blood left over from past periods. Why not call a gyno's office and ask them what they think. If they feel you need to go in have an aunt or girlfriends mom take you if you don't want your dad there.
you should see a doctor i was gonna say you are spotting but as soon as you said smell ,i knew you should see a doctor do you have any female family member who you will be comfortable talking to if so you should tell them but if not suck it up and tell you dad its for the safety of your health
if it's brown or black you need to see a doctor. if you look closely and see that its dark red however, you could just be spotting. you could have some kind of infection though, so you should tell your dad and go to a doctor. it's more important to be healthy than worry about being embarrassed.
Since you just started your period last month, it's going to take a while for your body to get on a regular schedule. This is very normal, but if it continues for weeks, then you should talk with your dad. Don't be scared - periods are not exact. They don't cycle perfectly. There will be times when it is a little early, or a little late. It may last 3 days or seven. You may have only a brown discharge in place of an actual period for the first couple of months. Also, all periods have an odor. Once you've had them for a while, you'll be able to tell the difference in a change in odor, but it will always smell somewhat.
No, it's normal to have really dark discharge sometimes when you have your period. The only thing you should be worried about is if the smell is really fishy-that can mean a bacterial infection, which is easily treated. If the discharge is in between your periods, you may want to go to your dr. and have a talk. Just tell your dad you want to talk to your doctor about "girl problems". He'll get it. But you probably have nothing to worry about.
i would get it checked out. but if you're embarrassed to tell your dad, why dont you try a planned parenthood? they have gynos in house and you wouldnt need a parent to go with you.
