For girls only!?

Question:
i get really bad cramps i've even barf because of my them and asprin doesn't help at all.what can do to make my cramps less painful!

Answers:
bananas, exercise, long naps, hot showers and the pill. it regulates your period, makes it shorter and lighter, and you can also make it so that you only get your period every three months. for prescription meds try naproxen, its at a dose of 1 pill twice a day, but you can double up if it gets really bad. it works to prevent cramps, so you have to start taking it about 2 days before your period
I heard that ginger tea can help a lot...or mint tea...that and take oil of evening primrose capsules and lay off caffeine.
evanessenc sux
try a heating pad and just laying down for a little while..if tht doesnt help see if maybe an ice pack works (different things work for different ppl)
Did you try using midol? My friend has really bad cramps, and she says midol really helps.
Why don't you try Midol?
First of all, aspirin ain't gonna do you a damn bit of good. You need a muscle relaxant (Ibuprofen), like Motrin or a generic store brand. Lay on your bed face down, rest your forehead on your crossed arms, and bring your knees in to your stomach, it's a good menses yoga move.

PS: Yeah, you could do Midol, but it doesn't concentrate on your cramping, it's mostly formulated for PMS symptoms, like headaches and other stuff associated with anything estrogen related. If you want to get rid of the cramps, you need a specialized and targeted pain medication like Ibuprofen because the uterus is a muscle. Just don't take Midol and Motrin at the same time, you'll get sicker than you were when you just had cramps.

RESPONSE TO ADDITIONAL DETAILS: If nothing is working, you could possibly have what's called endometriosis...and the only thing you can do for that is to go to a doctor and have the cysts removed.
Drink a lot of water.

Eat LOADS of bananas (they're brilliant).

Gentle exercise (sounds stupid but it works!).

Hope this helps, and I hope you're feeling better soon xo
Try Midol and then try New Pamprin. I've also heard that rubbing "Head On"on the cramp area helps. I feel for you. I used to get horrible cramps too. Good luck, hon. :)
one word. PAMPRIN! it works magnificently!! get pamprin all day relief. it definitally works for me and all of my freinds.
1. If your cramps are that bad, you may need to see a gynecologist. In fact, I urge you to go just to be safe.
2. Heating pads or any warm, moist heat (Bed Buddys, microwaveable bean bags they sell at Wal-Mart) are great to help relieve cramps.
3. Try Ibuprofen instead of aspirin. Your uterus is inflamed and Ibuprofen is an anti inflammatory.
4. Yoga! Yoga is a fantastic way to help relieve severe menstrual cramping, in fact, any exercise is. I like yoga because it helps stretch the uterus and relieve some of the spasms.
5. Sit on the floor cross-legged, then while sitting on the floor still, sit with the soles of your feet together. Depending on how limber you are, it can be hard, but it stretches the uterine muscles and relieves the spasms.

Again, go to a gynecologist and get that looked at. You shouldn't throw up due to menstrual cramps. You may have endometriosis, like me, where the cramping is so excruciating that it makes you vomit.
Buy a menstrual cup! Seriously, in nearly everyone I know who has switched to a cup, their cramps have disappeared. I love mine and find it much easier than tampons- and you can use them for up to ten years, so no need to waste money on disposable products!

I truly believe that the really terrible cramps are caused from all the bleach and chemicals that are in tampons and pads.

If you do decided to get one, the size 1 is for teens (or for those that are virgins) and size two is for everyone else.

I hope this helps.
Hey Girl!

Asprin is going to be irritating on your stomache so it could make cramps worse! I get terrible cramps as well, the pukey kind :0~
What I have learned to do is start taking midol the night before Im going to start, then continue thoughout the days that I cramp (usually one horrible day then a half of the next day). Also get the Midol without caffiene as caffiene makes cramps worse.
If this does not work go to your Doctor and get a prescription for Aniprox (sp?), its the presciption strength of aleve and works really well on cramps.
Naturally to lessen cramps, cut down on caffiene, sugar, try to get some excersise, drink lots of water and keep stress levels low!h
Good luck
I never get cramps. I'm considered the lucky one and many girls get jealous cause I don't get cramps. Take a warm shower, i heard that helps...or try midol.
Stop taking aspirin. Aspirin thins your blood. It can make you heavier. Do you have Tylenol? Can you find a generic brand of Tylenol for a couple of bucks at a dollar store?
Ginseng can be good for cramps. The ginseng works on me like a muscle relaxant and I calm right down. Celestial Seasonings makes a tea called Tension Tamer. It's got ginseng and B vitamins. It tastes good too.
Can you get a heating pad and put it on the pain? If not, would you soak in a hot bath? Just give it 20 minutes and then step away and let the skin cool to normal. Sometimes it doesn't seem to kick in until then. You can always do it again.
Do you want to drink the house dry? I've done this. Do you want to go on a binge? Soda and junk food can taste great but the sodium can make you bloat and cramp. Fruit can taste good and satisfy a craving but the fiber can make you bloat until it flushes out of your system. Try and stay away from this stuff for the next couple of days.
Try and calm down. Going into a panic will make you feel worse. Can you distract yourself? Watch a funny movie, do something you really like to do and throw yourself into it. Don't feel like it? Do it anyway. Laughter is the best medicine. Laugh, sing, have fun, enjoy yourself, but try not to sit around and dwell on how bad it makes you feel. That's not going to help anything.
Lots of girls do this. You are not alone. In a couple of days it'll be all over. Tell yourself, "It'll be all right. I can handle it." Comfort yourself knowing it will end soon. Something will work, you just have to find it. Hang in there!
you can try motrin, aleve or go even more problem specific and take pamprin or midol. both pamprin and midol work well, but it's a matter of preference which works best for you. you can also try lying down with a heating pad and gently massaging your belly while practicing relaxation techniques like meditation or yoga. getting regular exercise (such as walking) is known to help alleviate cramping overall. follow a diet rich in complex carbohydrates and fiber like whole grains, fruits and vegetables. avoid or minimize consumption of salt, sugar, alcohol and caffeine.
oooo my friend had that so she had to take birth control! maybe thatll help!
Lie down with a warm towel under your back. I usually stretch alot and that helps, but I think your just getting your period, nothing to worry about, I once barfed when I got mine.
