Can you get pregnant even after having a tubal?

I have a friend (seriously, a friend it's not for me) she had a tubal about 4 and a half years ago, as she didn't want anymore children plus, she was a high risk pregnancy. She's now a few days late and she's very nervous about this. Her husband would be thrilled to death and so would she, but with the high risk pregnancies in the past... well that's one of the reasons she had a tubal in the first place. Could she possibly be pregnant? ( I thought that once you had a tubal that was it it was final, no turning back)

Hi! Sorry aafter a tubal ligation the chance of prenancy is almost Zero. Also, as women get older, the periods change in schedule. Often by the 30's and a couple of kids, the periods change in time and lenght. Some months can be heavy, some light. Some months early, on time or late. With the tubal, it doesn't matter, there is no pregnancy. Most of my friends that had tubals after their last child found within 3-5 years their periods changed. Some heavier, some lighter and the schedule changed for all of them. So tell you friend, that she is not pregnant, this is part of the bodies adjustment.

Well, you shouldn't, but I know women who have gotten pregnant after tubals. Your friend needs to take a pregnancy test and see her doctor before she gets too thrilled. It could be something else.

i think it is possible to pregnant i have heard cases where that procedure can reverse itself.

well believe it or not there really is a small chanch she could get pregnant again did she have them cut and burned thats the best way to go but sometimes they really do untie and reconnect on there own the womans body is meant to reproduce it just mother natures way of reproducing if she is pregnant then that was gods plans for her thats the best way to look at it i have six children and i feel thats wahat god had in store for me best wishes

I have heard that tubal ligation does not guarantee you won't get pregnant. Same goes with vasectomies. There could be a number of reasons why your friend is late, but if she is really nervous about it, she should pick up a pregnancy test and put her mind at ease. The more she stresses and worries about it, the more late it could make her, because stress could actually contribute to a woman being late.
