4 weeks post partum, bad cramps.is this normal??

Question:
4 weeks post-partum, recovery has been uneventful. 2nd child, so I pretty much know what to expect..until now.

Intense cramps set in about 8 hours ago, and get worse when I walk around. To be honest it feels like I'm in labor all over again. Bleeding has all but stopped at this point, I keep expecting to go to the bathroom and see bright red blood...but nothing.

Not breast feeding, if that makes a difference. And have had lower back pain for a couple of days now.
Is this a normal part of recovery that I don't remember from the first time around? or could it be something else entirely, like a kidney stone? (never had a kidney stone, so I don't know what it feels like)

Dr office closed for night, and he has Tuesdays off.is it worth a call to the doc on call?

Answers:
Yeah I would call the hospital and talk to a doctor. A lot of things could be going on, and I don't think you should wait another 24 hours.
