I had not gotten my period for around a year. So I finally went to the Gyno and he gave me the pill. On the third week I got my period it started out really light and brown discharge really really light. Then a few days later it changed to really heavy bleeding, it is also very dark red. I am bleeding a whole lot and this period has lasted me for 10 days now. I'm pretty worried any idea what is going on? This has never ever happened to me before. My periods, when I would get them would last me 6 days at the maximum. I would miss a month or two but my periods would only last me 6 days. Sometimes even 3-4. This is the longest period I have ever had it is also my first in around a year. Any ideas? I'm 16 by the way.

I am having the same problem now that I've started on the nuvaring. My doctor said that it is normal because your body is getting used to the hormones.
