Strange Period symptoms?
Question:
Is this normal? Does anyone know what could be causing this? I've usually had moderate period pain.
- I'm a vegetarian, but I have been all my life so I doubt this is affecting it.
Thank you
Answers:
No, this is not normal. If your doctor was unsympathetic and his only solution was to prescribe birth control pills, you should see a different doctor. Just because someone is a doctor doesn't make them a good one. Some doctors just do the bare minimum so that they can go on to the next patient. Your doctor should be concerned about the severity of your symptoms and not be blowing you off. How would HE feel if this was happening to him? Your doctor should also be concerned about prescribing you birth control pills at your age when you are not sexually active because these pills are synthetic hormones and they can mess with your body. They should not be prescribed for someone your age who isn't sexually active unless that is the best solution.
Look, my sister is a nurse and my niece is a doctor. I have heard them talk about medical issues and I can tell you that their own personal views on how doctors/nurses should treat patients is that the patient should be listened to, treated with respect, and every effort should be made to solve the problem the patient is having. If you don't feel your doctor is doing this for you, then if you are able to see a different doctor (perhaps a female even), then I would recommend doing so.
go see a doc.. asap
Im not sure what could be the cause but I know a friend of mine that was prescribed tablets to help her period pains, because she felt faint and was in alot of pain due to them and they helped. so I guess all I can say is consult your doctor.
