Female opinon please. It itches... down there?
A week ago, i went to the doctor cos there was discharge and irritation downthere. I was described an antibiotic to take for a week. I am done with the medication last saturday. Everything is back to normal now, except for it kinda itches downthere a llttle bit. Do you know what could be going on with me? I am scheduling for an STD test just to have a peace of mind, but could this mean i have an STD?

Although the antibiotic helps with the first problem, it causes a whole new one. Yeast infection. No need to schedule the STD test. Just ask them to prescribe diflucan. One pill to end the agony. Feel better soon!

Your va-j-j could just be irritated from all the events down there. If you are dry, or washing down there too much, then your "neterlands" could be angry!
I don't think anything serious is wrong, it sounds, just keep using the anti-itch cream.

Well even though you were prescibed an antibiotic for one thing that antibiotic could start an entire new thing. That would be a yeast infection. Vagisil works well for the itching and irritation but doesn't help the yeast infection. You should get some monistat. That will treat the yeast infection. I always use the 3 day. It works best, just use it right before you go to bed and in 3 days you will feel much better. You should still go in and be tested for the STD's. If you have had unprotected sex then it is always a good idea to get tested regardless. Good luck to you and I hope this helps!

It could be a bacterial infection..They make cerams and wipes to help with the itching but you need to have a doctor do a culture to find out exactly what it is.
