Answers:
Walking is the key. 48 minutes is the magic number. We started small--around the block--and now do four miles fast every night after supper.

I have lost ten pounds in a month for the first time in my life and other people are doing the same thing.

At night I snack on frozen blueberries and really low calorie stuff. Popcorn is something I get into too. I try to get the most I can out of the least amount of calories. I cut off my eating after six PM.

Have the person doing the grocery shopping buy a bunch of good low-calorie healthy food and get the junk out of the house. If it is not there, you can't eat it.

Aim for high nutrition, low-calorie, high fiber foods. Check out a calorie counter on the net and keep track of what you are eating in a notebook and add up your calories. Look over the calorie counter and see what is low calorie that you like and get plenty of it. Watermelon bites are very low-calorie.

Find something else to do instead of eating. Replace it with something you enjoy or snack healthy.

Drink a ton of water all day long. Many times bodies confuse hunger for thirst.

Lay off anything that has "high fructose corn syrup" or "sugar" in the top five ingredients. If you have stuff like that, limit it. I dropped soda, but have some a glass here and there. I make fruit and fat free yogurt smoothies that are really good an have very little calories and lots of nutrition.

Avoid diet soda. Ever see a thin person drinking diet soda? The artificial sweetners are linked to increased hunger and weight gain.

Eat all kinds of steamed or microwaved vegetables of all colors, tons of fresh fruit, and little junk. Eat lean meats, whole grains, cereals, and about a half cup of rice, noodles, or other carbs. Limit bread and potatoes.

Just the walking will take the weight off. Some people skate, some bike, some run, but pick a time of day that you are going and see if you can get a friend or family member to do it.

We measured our waists, wrote down our weight, and got started. A month later ten pounds is gone, our waists are shrinking, and our bodies are looking better all the time.

So...to lose it fast...knock carbohydrates WAAAY down, such as no more than 27 grams a meal, knock calorie intake down to 1500 cals, drink a lot of water, get a multivitamin, and start walking every day of your life.

Eat breakfast every day. Eat lunch. Eat supper. Eat snacks in between. This keeps your metabolism rolling and keeps your blood sugar steady so you don't end up eating your head off at night. People who eat breakfast lose a third more weight.

Walking is free, easy, and it works. Ask the millions of us losing weight and cheering about it. We feel better, have more energy, look better, and it is easy. You can do what we are doing or you can go to dance, or whatever makes you happy, but do it more days than not. Aim for an hour a day.

Good luck and good health.
Instead of getting board and eating. exercise. it is really the only way to loose it and keep it off. run run run. its the absolute best and fastest way.
Go on a liquid diet. That means no food at all. Just water. Do that until you lose the amount of weight you want to lose.
Stop eating so much simple as that. Why ask this question you know what the problem is.
in the afternoon maybe you should work out then so you don't start snacking. or keep a journal with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and maybe 1 or 2 snacks in between. so you could try to do better and remebering what you ate.
Join an afternoon activity, like a sports team. Or call a friend and hang out for a few hours until dinnertime. Distraction is the best cure for bored eating.
When i need to lose weight, i just eat anything that is below 4% fat. There is soooo much you can eat. I have quite a sweet tooth too so if i fancy something sweet i have yoghurt, rice pudding, jelly, cereal, lemon curd sandwiches (no butter) bread pudding, fruit bread, malt loaf or jam swiss roll.
Savoury stuff is endless, you can have loads of fruit and veg, breads, white meats and fish, pasta, rice, some cooking sauces, turkey sausages, cottage cheese, tuna, bacon, eggs etc.....
Eat until you feel full. Try to have a third fruit and veg, a third carbohydrates and a third protein in your diet. While high fibre stuff fills you up, it digests much faster than protein. So by having protein you will feel fuller for longer. Also include some calcium in your diet as this helps fat pass through your body unabsorbed.

I forgot to mention that you should add little bits of exercise into your routine. Just 5 minutes here and there adds up. The earlier the better too because it gets your metabolism going. Try not to eat late at night when your metabolism is slower.
To lose weight you need to 1. follow a low calorie diet, 2. do regular exercise. 3. NO SNACKING.
The trick is the amount of calories you take in has to be less than the amount you put out in energy. Try a diet similar to this:
breakfast.one slice of toast (no butter) and a piece of fruit
lunch... a bowl with some lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber..no oil or dressing.. a little vinegar if you want
dinner.a SMALL piece of LEAN meat and a small serving of veg..
No snacks between meals if you can help it, if you have to..a piece of fruit only. No sodas.water and walk for at least an hour a day...not slow stroll...really walk. You'll lose your weight in no time. Good luck.
Move more, eat less. When the afternoon munchies hit, drink a glass of water and take off on a 30 minute walk. Exercise will give you a natural lift (love those brain chemicals!), leaving you feeling better and more satisfied then the food does. Drinking water when you think you are hungry really helps fill up the tummy and doesn't add pounds. Also, when you are tempted to eat something you shouldn't, ask yourself first "Is the fleeting pleasure of the taste of _______ (fill in the blank with the food) worth the extra work I need to do to make sure it doesn't add to the pounds I want to lose?" When you know that you have to walk at least 100 yards to use up the calories in ONE M&M, the goodie doesn't seem so appealing.

Weight goes on slowly and the only successful way to get the extra off and keep it off is to do it slowly. One to two pounds a week at the most, unless you are at a fat farm with doctor supervision. Yoyo dieting is more harmful to your body then just carrying the extra weight.

If you just have to get the weight off now, liposuction is the only way to get rid of it!

Good luck!
I'm a teen, too, (15 years old) and I'm also trying to lose weight. Now, my problem is that I really don't eat a lot, and I also play softball and tennis. So I really don't understand why I'm overweight. I'm not obese, though. I might be around 15 lbs. overweight.

I actually wanted to ask about that liqiud diet. What would I have for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And also, I haven't had breakfast in a while. Everyone says it's unhealthy, but I'm just never hungry in the morning. Every once in a while I'll have a bowl of cereal in the weekends when I wake up, but I never eat before school; usually I just have a sip of tea. I also completely cut out soda. Haven't had soda in about 5 or 6 weeks.

So, yes, how would that liquid diet go?

And also, what would be considered a low-calorie diet? How many calories are the "maximum" amount?
