get the pads with wings, and be sure to change your pad a little more often. That should do it.
Also, try tampons... I always wear tampons, never pads... I think pads are so uncomfortable and they make noise when you walk and they are so big and bulky I am always worried someone can see them, etc.
I also have underwear that is stained from my period leaking but clean... and when I start my period... I only wear those underwear... thus saving my non-stained ones if I should leak again.

You probleby just have a heavy period. This just means that you have to change your pad more often. And maybe try tampons. :)
Try wearing the pads with wings, that might help you. Also, maybe on your heaviest day you should make sure you are changing it every hour or two to help the leaking.

You can either use a tampon and a pad for better protection, or you can buy larger pads with winds to protect any side leaks. Also, remember to change your pad often to prevent any other leakage as well.
And you can tell your mom about it, she knows you more than we do, i'm sure she'll understand what you're going through, she is a woman after all :O)

well there are a lot of solutions actually.
instead of always buying new underwear buy thicker pads.if you still think that wont work you can wear a tampon and a pad and change it regularly so that way it has no chance of going through both of them...usually if you just wash them it will come out but if your to worried about it then buy darker underwear i recomend all black or a dark red marroon or something that way if you bleed you cant tell.your mom will understand, every girl gets a period so why wouldnt she?

What size pad are you wearing? Try wearing the largest size available even the night-time pads. Maybe use a pad and a Tampon at the same time. I have also heard of people wearing two pads at once. I hate to put this in, but maybe an adult diaper, if it is really really bad. If none this works, you may want to talk to your doctor. You may have an unusually heavy period that can easily and often be fixed with a Birth Control pill.
You might need to wear extra protection. Or use the bathroom more often.We all went through it at the beginning.Once you know your body you will know what to do.Good luck.

Ok one thing, you don't need to throw your underwear away, just soak it in COLD water for a while and then try to rub the blood out, then throw it in the laundry.anyway, your mom would know how to get it out. I don't know what is so embarassing about it, your mom is a woman, too, so she knows what to do about it. And I agree that you should start using tampons, just always make sure you have spare one with you in case it's full.

Well you shouldn't be embarrssed because everyone is a first at something and everyone makes mistakes. You should already know that the stiky part faces down on your underwear. Maybe it's the way you're positioning it. Remember when you sit the pad moves up, so make sure when you put it on it's even and pulled to the back some.
Tampons are always a solution as well.

You just must be a heavy flower, like me. I have ALWAYS had that problem, and I am 33 years old! I have violent periods, painful and heavy. I leak thru 3 days out of the 7 I am on it. Just last week I found out that I have fibroid tumors on my uterus (non cancerous) and that has what has caused all of my problems (period, bladder, bloating etc) so I have to have a hysterectomy. Of course that is a different story, but anyhoo..some people just have that, if u are like me, wearing a tampon is a waste of time during your heavy flow, cuz it gets full in a matter of an hour or less. Try double padding (gross feeling, yet it gives you more security). I hope it gets better for ya hon, all of us women sooooo understand. Take care, and good luck!
It sounds like you need to change the pad alot more frequently, our periods are the suckiest things, your not alone in the leaking boat I am confident that every woman has her own horror story about the dreaded red!

or just keep buying new underwear

Why are you afraid of tampons? I've been using them since I was your age and I'm 34. They're perfectly fine to use and will work much better than pads. If you're a heavy bleeder, then use a tampon plus a light pad. Who wants to wear a diaper? You will be a lot more comfortable... trust me. Just try it... I don't know what you're afraid of??
Tampons are seriously an amazing invention...I usually wear one with a pad and have no staining/leakage! Otherwise, extra long pads with wings are the next best thing. Maybe try changing your pad more too.
well, you could buy bigger pads, or just change them more frequently. and you could try tampons, but i totally get that they are scary, and it most likely wont work the first time, so dont stress.
