I have not had a menstrual cycle in 7 weeks but I am not pregnant. What's wrong with me?

Question:
My periods have always been pretty regular, running between a 28 and 30 day cycle. I have never missed a period except for when I was pregnant with my daughter. My periods have been irregular since February and now I'm not having one at all. The last time I menstruated was in early June, and that cycle was almost 2 weeks late. It's been 7 or 8 weeks since my last cycle and I am starting to really freak out. I don't know what is causing it and I'm worried that I have some major problem with my system. Has anyone else experienced this??

Answers:
It could be the cause of many things
have you changed your diet lately?
stop stressing about it - that can also make it late. try to relax
Only when I was pregnant. BUt a friend of mine did skip a period because her diet became worse and she wasn't really eating. Check with your GYN - he can tell you more.
nothing. nothing at all, count yourself lucky!!!!!lol!
has there been something really stressful in your life this year. If there has that is probably why. Also, if you have been doing an extreme amount of exercise than that might be it to. if neither of those are the case, i would talk to your doctor.
It could be a sign of many things, but one basic question to ask yourself is if you are getting enough to eat to match the level of energy you output.
Lots of things can contribute to not having periods. Stress can be a big factor. When I lived in college dorms, I never had a period. Probably due to getting on the same cycle as the people surrounding you (my one roommate was an athlete, and never had a period).
Your body may be getting itself ready for menapause. (if your in that age range) Mine used to be every 28 days. Now it's 20-28 days. One time it was 30 days. I also at one time had a period that wouldn't quit. My doctor put me on a birth control pill for a short time to regulate it back to it's norm. Anyway, that's what my doctor told me. You should get checked out just to rule out anything serious though. You can start to go through pre-menapause from age 37 on. Everybody is different. Good luck and I hope everything is fine.
Stress can be a huge factor. Also poor diet / eating habits can contribute to it also. But it would be best to talk to your Gyno just to rule out any illness. It is good that you are tracking your periods give that info to your doctor.
yeah i experienced that and it was a relief not to be on my period.
