Why are you supposed to urinate after sex?

Question:
I know to prevent a yeast infection, but how does it prevent it and why?

Answers:
flush out all the toxins and give "her" a rest I recommend urination in between breaks
It mainly prevent UTI, it works by flushing all of the unsterile fluids, etc out.
It helps to flush the bacteria out of your urinary tract, to prevent you from getting a urinary tract infection... you should also try to wash off with a wash cloth to further prevent infection...
It's actually to prevent a bladder infection. During intercourse the penis can push bacteria from the vagina into the urethra. Because the urethra is very short it doesn't take much for the bacteria to travel upwards and into the bladder causing an infection. To clear out any bacteria you should pee within 10 minutes after intercourse. It is also a good idea to pee before sex to clear out any bacteria that might be sitting at the opening of the urethra.
