I have been taking Prozac for about a year now and my sex drive has DROPPED SO much how can I make it normal?
I have been taking prozac for about a year now and since then my sex drive is down soo much. I barley want sex now and don't even want to think about it. What can I do to make it normal again besides going to the Dr.? I already know that I am suppose to call or go back up there to my Dr. But I just wanted to see if anybody else out there is or was like how I am now and trying to see what happen to them...

You can try 400 of folic acid or horny goat weed from a health food store, I would try the folic acid first , I know they recommend horney goat weed to the men, so I am not sure what it will do to a women, i tried nortestine once and it was a body building suppliment for men and it did some strnage thing to me, so try folic acid first. if this does not work, maybe try cinsulting a doctor they do advertise prescripton meds for women with low sex drive.
Unfortunately, this is a known side effect of the SSRI class of antidepressants (such as Prozac). Your best bet is to talk to your doctor about it and perhaps change the anti-depressant to something which has less chance of interfering with your sex drive. Good luck!
Not much you can do except try other ones. That is the main side effect of the drug and most of them cause it. Maybe reducing the dosage will help.
I think you will need a sex therapist. they are skilled to help people with sexual problems.
