Are there any long term studies concerning Gardasil?

Question:
I want to get Gardasil, but I want to know the long term effects that it has, and yet no one has shown me. Does anyone know something about this? It's really the only reason why I havent gotten it.

Answers:
I've done a lot of research on Gardasil. The oldest clinical testing is almost five years old. There are no serious side effects. The side effects are ones common to all vaccines.
You can't test for cervical cancer, because it takes years to develop it. What they have found is that it prevents precancerous lesion in the cervix at a high percentage. They are unsure if people will need a booster shot after so many years.

What people need to know is that Gardasil only protects against 4 strains of HPV. There are hundreds of different strains. Women still need to get regular paps.

I'm getting the vaccine soon.
Me too. I would be getting vaccinations like a shot except this one hasn't been around long enough for there to have been long-term studies. It's only been developed over the past few years and I think the trials extend back over a few years but of course there's nothing for a long time like 20 years or more.
