Which form of birth control is best if...?

Question:
I'm going to the doctor to discuss birth control. The reasons for using birth control are to gain weight, clear skin, and not getting pregnant. which form of birth control is best for these 3 things? pill, shot, patch, or ring?

Answers:
from my own personal experience i've found the ring was great because
A) it was easy to remember (you take put it in for 3 weeks, leave it out for one, then repeat.),
B) it's helped to relieve my migraines, and
C) it's helped me to clear up the constant minor blemishes i'd had for so long.
being on the ring did cause me to put on a significant amount of weight (which i wasn't very happy about), but it's a result of both water weight and increased appetite from the hormones. if that's what you're looking for, then i say go for it!

i'm sure your doctor can fill you in with more information about risks and side effects that could occurr from it, as well as to help you decide which is in your best interest! good luck!!
The best form of birth control is to sustain from sex, it works 100% of the time. I would not go on birth control, all that is is killing what could be a child if you so wanted it to be.
The first response is wrong about one thing: the pill does not kill any babies. There is NONE to start with. There is no egg. Not unless there is immaculate conception especially with all of the virgins and people who do not have sex (like me) who use it!

I would say the shot. I hear you gain weight on that and it prevents pregnancy. I don't know about it clearing your skin.

The patch is dangerous. Stay away from that.

The pill does not make everyone gain weight and does not clear skin. It does help prevent pregnancy if used correctly.

I'm not familiar with the ring.

But, ask about everything with your doctor. Only he/she would know.
The best person to help answer your question is your doctor. She will help you determine which form is best for you. And as for insurance covering birth control, some insurances do and some don't. To save you the most money, ask your doctor to write you a prescription for a generic. When I first went on the pill the doctor had written a prescription for a name brand pill that would have cost me almost $50 a pack with my insurance. I asked her to write a generic one, and that brought my cost down to $10. And don't worry, generics work just fine.
