Birth Control question.help!?

Question:
I have been on birth control pills for three years. Last month I finished my last pack because I decided to go off. I have been off the pills for one month but I still haven't gotten my period yet. I'm starting to think I might just want to go on the stupid pills again.can I just start taking them again or should I wait for my period? Also, how long will it take for me to be protected against pregnancy if I go back on after going off for one month?

Answers:
When i was put on bc pills, i told the doctor i was supposed to start in a week. she said it was fine, that i might spot, but i'd be ok. so with that being said i don't see why you couldn't just start again.

the protection deal, treat it as though you were never on before. i think the time frame is 1-3 months before your protected.

just to be extra sure call up your doc and let them know you went off for a month, haven't gotten your period but would like to start again, can't hurt to double check.
see a doctor. you could become pregnant immediately after you quit taking your pills or it could take months. everyone is different.
it could take months for your period to come, or become regular again once it does.

my bf's sister-in-law had problems getting a period after she quit using the pill, she now has to stay on the pill until her and a doctor decide she is ready for kids and then ween her off of them. if you don't get one after 3 months, and don't find out that you're pregnant, make sure you book an appointment, you could have a serious problem.
