Do not put a tampon in if it has nothing to catch. This is one of the number one er gyno calls is when young people in your similar situation puts in a tampon and forget that it is there... NO JOKE this happens a lot more than you think. It can cause a horrible infection that you need to stay overnight in the hospital for.
The chances of you starting exactly when you are at swim practise is low. Be alert to telltale signs that you are starting...low back pain, tenseness, feeling that you have gained wieght overnight... Carry a tampon with you and ask to go to the bathroom often. Coaches are very used to dealing with this as all girls eventually start their periods. Also, the pressure of the water helps to hold the flow inside of you.
It 'll be ok. This is a common situation...JUST don't wear a tampon when you dont need too.
no dont do it, its very bad.
just bring a tampon and go to the bath more often.
go to http://beinggirl.com
it has every Q you want answered
No you shouldn't use a tampon when you don't have your period. Maybe you put a spare tampon into your bag or purse and if you start when you are there go into the toilet and do your business. No harm in that. But it is recommend that you don't insert a tampon until you have started menstrating.
Have you heard of the diva cup? I have been thinking of trying it. go to divacup.com. Its not supposed to have any risks of TSS or anything else...
yes-the water will slow down the bleeding. you will probably feel it if you start and you can grab the towel and run to the bathroom
No do not wear a tampon if you are not on your period! It is so bad. Are you saying you haven't even had your first period? Or you just don't know when you will get it next? But whatever you do do not wear a tampon when you are not on your period. You can get a disease! It's called TSS and you just don't wear tampons if you don't have your period no matter what! You will not leak in the water. The water temporarily stops your period or at least makes it so it's not noticeable!
no just have some with you in your bag and wipe right before you get in the pool and if there's no blood then just go in without one.
i personally think its ok, ive done that myself using the lighest one i could and i was just fine, still am. even though i didnt get my period when it was in there it still helps. if you feel more comfortable wearing one just to be sure you dont get embarressed, then sure wear one but take it out right after the swim stuff.
I wouldn't recommend doing it. You could get that toxic shock syndrome, which is veeeeery bad. Usually, the water pressure will stop you from bleeding. Just keep a towel handy for when you get out, and go straight to the bathroom.
My grandma use to use them to help stop bladder leakage (not only just on her period). Nothing ever happend to her. I think you'll be fine.
i dont know about swimming, but i dance. i've used a tampon when i didnt have my period plenty of times when i was supposed to get mine and had a performance or even class, and nothing happened. Just make sure you take it out right after your swimming lesson is over so you dont leave it in too long.
