Question about periods?

I'm 15 and I still haven't "started" my period. I know girls get periods at different times. The first time I got a period was last year in September. It lasted about 5 days. Then it stopped. In May I had another period. It lasted 7 days and I haven't had one since. I know periods start off irregular, but they're not supposed to be this distant, are they? It's not like I want to get periods...my friends say they suck...it's just that I think there's something wrong with me because it's like I only get my period once a year, and that's not good. I turn 16 in March and if it doesn't officially start by then should I see a doctor?

Is it possible for a woman to poisen a man thru intercourse by inserting said poisen up her vagina?

Answers:
Absence of a period is called amennorhea. It can be caused by a variety of things, including weight. If you are underweight, your body will not allow you to have periods. Having periods means that you are fertile and can carry a baby. If you are underweight, your body knows that you do not have enough fat "in reserve" in case you were to become pregnant.

Menstruation

Also called: Menses, Menstrual period, Period
Menstruation, or period, is a woman's monthly bleeding. Every month, your body prepares for pregnancy. If no pregnancy occurs, the uterus sheds its lining. The menstrual blood is partly blood and partly tissue from inside the uterus, or womb. It passes out of the body through the vagina. Periods usually start around age 12 and continue until menopause, at about age 51. Most periods last from three to five days.

You should consult your health care provider if

You haven't started menstruating by age 16
Your period suddenly stops
You bleed excessively, or for more days than usual
You suddenly feel sick after using tampons
You bleed between periods
You have severe pain during your period

At what age does a girl get her first period?
Menarche is another name for the beginning of menstruation. In the United States, the average age a girl starts menstruating is 12. However, this does not mean that all girls start at the same age. A girl can begin menstruating anytime between the ages of 8 and 16. Menstruation will not occur until all parts of a girl's reproductive system have matured and are working together.

I wouldn't worry too much. Your body is starting it's transition into womanhood. Even if your period regulates itself into a monthly cycle, seeing a gynecologist for your first pap and pelvic is a good idea at age 16.
