If you are on the progesterone only pill - the mini pill - you have to be very accurate - you can take it up to 3 hours late without having to treat it as a missed pill.
If you are on a combined pill - most people are - you can take it up to 12 hours late without having to count it as a missed pill. You may find that you get spotting if you take it more than 6 hours late a couple of days in a row.
I take my pill at noon - that way I'm awake for the next 12 hours so I have a much higher chance of remembering it and taking it before the 12 hours is up.
The doctors would like you to take it around the same time. But I personally don't. Especially with my odd work hours. The important thing is as long as you remember to take it everyday.
Usually as long as you take it everyday, you are fine. Like what was said before, the doctors would tell you to take it at the same time everyday, but for many people that is really hard. I was on pills then moved to the shot, but as long as I took my pill everyday I was fine. I did it this way for 2 years and never had a problem. Hope this helps some.
Depends what kind you have.
The majority of women use the combination pill which is the 21 days of actual pills and 7 days of a sugar or iron pill during your actual period. With this type of pill it is good to take them around the same time, few hours off doesnt hurt.
With the other pill, the progestin hormone pill. You take 28 straight days of hormone pills every cycle. This pill is more strict and needs to be taken more around the same time. I'd say no more than 3 hour max of the time you take it normally.
YES. It is best to take the pill the same time everyday . If you dont you could pop up pregnant. Play It Safe
