Why do women feel like they have to shave their pubic area?

I think it's a social thing. Personally, I am natural and prefer natural, but I definitely think women (at least in our society) are socialized to believe that their pubic hair is gross, unsightly, gets in the way, and generally needs to be trimmed or removed. Also, hair poking out of your swimsuit just isn't an acceptable look these days, so even natural women like me have to do something if we wear small suits or risk being completely shunned.
Some women feel it "Looks" better when it is shaved. We always see the women in porn and think that is what our men want. Maybe we are mistaken. <3
Maybe, but it's really smelly. It's much cleaner and smells fresh when you have a Brazilian!
The natural look is fine on some, but not on others. (Too much of a natural thing can be overbearing) If that's your preference, then you should talk to your mate about it but be prepared for her preference to be 'clean' and 'manicured'.
because it harbours infection to be moist down there from all the hair but i do feel it should be trim and tidy . also it can grow real long
cause it's embarassing when your'e wearing a bikini or shorts and you can see what's going on up there.
Me personally I think if your in the mood,and your man is too be corresting your body and what not and then when it comes for him to finger you,its a lil weird because all he would feel is hair..and that is kind of disgusting..maybe not to all but to me. I am 16 and I am a black teen(lightskinned)..&& i am very "popular" so i guess thats how us youth look at it nowadaysz
i think its sexy when they shave,i really love them bald.
Its up to you. after all it is your body and you have all the right to keep it in a way like. But that is hygienic especially when those hairs break and slips into you vagina some how can create complications. That's it.
Personally I do it because I don't feel as clean with a bush down there. I mean just imagine you finish peeing, it's gotten in the hair, you wipe with toilet paper, little bits get stuck here and there in the hair. GROSS And also if a guy is going down on you it's better for him and better you more sensitive when it's clean.
As a bi woman, I can honestly say that I prefer a 'shavin havin' over the 'oh natural' any day! It's disgusting to have a 'bush' these days. I don't like to floss while I'm eating and I don't see why other people should have to. It's not just the smoothness, it's the hygiene factor as well, hair is a place in which bacteria will harvest, when you sweat the bacteria is trapped in the pubic hair, which is not a nice smell as you can imagine, especially in the larger women. AND, there is nothing worse than havin to pick out a hair from your teeth, yuk. Some people like it still (oh Natural) and power to ya, but I expect it to be shaved or at least trimmed neatly before I would even look at it Male or Female! It itches too, do you like gravel rash? you get a much better work over without it, believe me!
My hubby tried getting me to shave mine for years and I never would.Just didnt appeal to me.Buuuut oneday him and I made a bet about something,forgot now.well if we won I had to shave down there...if I won he owed me $100 lol
Well I lost and had to shave.Now...I cant stand for it to grow back.Looks better and feels better to me.SOmetimes I leave a strip...sometimes all it goes.

Shaved for me. It's cleaner, fresher, healthier and looks great
My G/F shaves the same reason I do. Makes it better during oral.
