Gushing Period (a bit weird)?

Question:
I am having a quite strange period problem. I am 15, have never been regular, and untill this week, i have been skipping periods since february. But a few days ago, my period just started in one big gush. Normally i have signs before i get one, but it just started suddenly. After a big gush of blood it was over for that day. With the gush, there is a big blood clot (something dark red and not quite as liquidy, kind of like a blood boger (sorry haha) ) The next day, it happened again, nothing untill a gush of blood and a blood clot. (Oh yes and they are quite big too, like between the size of a thumbnail to an eyeball) It has been happening for 5 days now, today and yesterday with quite frequent blood gushes, almost as if i were having a normal period, except it gushes then stops, gushes then stops. What is up with this? It makes no sense. And i dont want to go to the doctor. What do you think it is?

i had this happen to me a couple times and i'm 17..it freaked me out so i went to the doctor, this was when i was like 14 or 15..she said that it was ok if it only happens every once in a while..but she also said that if it happens frequently or there are a lot of them and they're big, then you need to get to the doctor because it's possibly a blood clot..and the blood booger thing that you said, i had that happen too, lol..it was sick and i thought i was like dying or something. its pretty scary haha. but yeah, definitely go to the doctor just to make sure..because it could be something serious that can be easily fixed by the doctor...your doc might put you on birth control..i got on it when i was 16 because i was having sex, but it also helped me regulate my periods..they come every 28 days and they only last for like 3 days, and they're pretty light too..before i went on the pill my periods were like every 25-35 days and they were heavy and lasted forever!! so i never knew when they would come and i would have to wear a panty liner for like 2 weeks before i was SUPPOSED to start. it sucked..it sounds gay but the pill changed my life for the better..it's awesome.

it sounds like blood clots to me and those can be deadly, not to scare you, if they are not treated. get to the doctor and see whats going on! dont be embarrassed, they see much worse things, lol.
If you're getting blood clots, go see a gynecologist!! A lot of people don't like seeing a doctor, but for your own health, please go.
Go to the doctor. I am an RN and I am telling you to go. You might need to be on the pill. If you don't want to tell your parents then go to a Planned Parenthood or a free clinic in your area (even the Health Department) and have a gynecological exam. Only a doctor can tell you what's normal and what's not.
oh man. go to the docters okay. like tell your mom. thats not good. what could be happening is you could have a cyst on your ovary.. because you skip periods when that happens.. or atleast i did.. and then if it ruptures you will have a lot of blood. but does your stomach hurt too? whats ever it is.. you should deffinitly go to the docters. you dont want anything to get damaged or anything.
I did the same thing when I was 15, only mine didn't stop. I didn't want to go to the doctor either, so I suffered through rediculous periods for two years. They kept getting worse, and eventually I had to miss school and stay in bed until they went away. Then, I started having them every two weeks, so I HAD to go to the doctor. Mine was nothing serious, they just put me on the pill to regulate it (which changed my life, by the way). But I found out later it could've been serious, and it was very dumb of me to put it off that long.
So, please just go now, and you'll be glad you did.
you are either becoming regular or the irregularity is getting worse. for me, i kept doing the gushing thing for a week then it stopped for a week then started back until i was bleeding every day for a month. eventually i was put on birth control.
