i've suffered with ear infections all of my life.
it's only been 3 days, not enough time for anitbotics to kick in.
amoxicillin isn't a great antibiotic, i am only able to take Keflex because i'm allergic to everything.
Floxin Optic Singles are great for ear infections.
put a heating pad on your ear when you can, it'll reduce the pain.
avoid eating food that you have to chew alot, it'll hurt and irritate your ear more.
warm sweet oil will help in your ears too, the warmth of it will make them feel better.
advil is good for pain, if you're over 200 pounds you can take up to 800mgs, that's i think 3 or 4. it will knock the pain out.
if you shower, use ear plugs or put cotton in your ears with vaseline[sp?] over it to make it water resistant or it could develop into swimmers ear.
DO NOT USE Q-TIPS! that will also make it worse.

btw, if it doesn't get better within 4 days from now[your 7 dayss of letting antibiotics kick in] you should go back.
I would contact your doctor and tell them it is not getting better, maybe getting worse. The doctor may have to put you on a stronger antibiotics. By now you should be getting better. please contact your doctor.
It depends on how severe it is. I had one that lasted 5 days and I took amoxicillin. Walgreens has a natural ear drop fluid that relieved pain well. I would suggest you use that and a warm rag against your ear until the drugs fill the infection
