Was it to early to take a preg test??

Question:
so I bought two of those preg tests from the dollar place and used them. they both came up neg. but was it too early?? My period is not due until this sat. so what do u think?

Answers:
Yes, the tests you get from the dollar store cannot detect the hormone until it reaches a certain level, I think it says on the test that it could possibly detect when you're only a day or two late. They work fine, as long as the control line showed up, you know it's working.

There is a new test that detects a different pregnancy marker, and can detect pregnancy as much as 5 days before your period, I just saw a commercial for it, but can't recall the name. I've linked a really early test below (FIRST RESPONSE® Early Result Pregnancy Test), it tests hCG, same as the dollar store tests, but detects it in smaller amounts, so it can give you a positive result up to 5 days before your period is due. Good luck!
it could be but i never knew that the dollar store sold pregnancy tests thats creepy.
I suggest not taking one until your period is late. A late period is the first indicator. If you are trying to get pregnant, relax and just wait a few more days to see if you begin your period. Thinking about it so much can actually cause you stress and prevent you from conceiving.

On the other hand, if you're worried about being pregnant, just wait and then deal with it. Also, use this "scare" as a lesson. If you don't want to be pregnant, abstain from sex and use contraceptives.
It may be too early.

Urine pregnancy tests detect HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), the "pregnancy hormone" produced by the implanted embryo. Most urine pregnancy tests should be taken no earlier than 10 days after your missed period. You should use your more-concentrated "first morning urine" for the test.

Pregnancy 101:

Fertilization occurs in the fallopian tubes. The fertilized embryo then travels (this may take 2-5 days) from the fallopian tube to the uterus, where it implants. After it implants, it begins producing HCG, which a pregnancy test detects. Sometimes a fertilized embryo will not implant in the uterus; either the uterus or the egg is not viable or it is too late in the woman's cycle. Or it may implant, then be "washed out" with the next menstrual cycle.

Some women never produce enough HCG in their urine for a urine test to detect; they must have a serum (blood) HCG test.

Short answer? Yes, it's too early.
