Tampon help..guys go away?

Question:
um...i'm 13 and i have had my pierod for a little more than a year. i'm going on a trip to the mts. with my family, and we are going to swim and tube there too. it is the second day of my peirod this month and i decided i didn't want to miss out on swimming (its my heavy pierod time) we are going tomorrow at 1:00 pm and my mom bought me small tampons and showed me how to use them. now she is sleeping and i waz wondering about some tips. it starts to hurt and i think I'm putting it in right, but i try to relax and i just get nervious. i have done so much reading on this but noone is here to like just be here. my sis is 16 and she still hasnt used tampons.i just dont want to like get hurt and stuf when i put it in. it hurts a little and then the more i push (i do it slowly) the more it starts to hurt. not at the end, but at the opening becasue it iz like expanding. i think i can bear the pain, but is it ok to just keep going and get it in? i just really wanna go swimming...

Answers:
OK, try putting some Vaseline on the tip of the tampon. Grease it up really good and it will slide right in for you. Also you may want to take some Vaseline with you so that you can do it while you're away from home. Don't change the tampon any sooner than every 4 hours unless you are bleeding past it. And don't forget to remove the last one when your period is done. Changing tampons too often can lead to some serious infections.
it should not hurt!
i would talk to your mom again since it seems like you're doing everything correct it may just be because nothing have ever been in your vagina
i remember when i first started using tampons... yep, they hurt a bit going in... keep at it, remember to wash your hands first and to use a clean tampon each time. You honestly CAN´T push them too far in, so don´t worry about that. Also, if you feel it once its inside, means its not far in enough!! If you put it in right its like its not there at all. Good luck and enjoy swimming!
after you put it in if you sit on the floor and touch your toes or somethin it will feel better caus it moves and gets in a better position
im 13 to but they dont hurt, if they're plastic if they're cardboard they mite but just dont b nervous its not bad at all its eaiser then pads ... [i think] well dont even worry bout it they're not painful! ♥♥best of luck
Try putting a lube of some kind on the end of it, that should help the applicator slide into your vagina easier. I know it sounds gross, but I guess even if you used some spit and put it on the opening of your vagina (people do that for sex all the time).

Also, something to be concerned with...if your period is heavy you still need to change your tampon every few hours. Especially when you are swimming because it will soak up a ton of water.

Oh, and make sure your string doesn't hang out of your suit! ;)
it might be the way you are putting it in. first of all, if youre using cardboard tampons your first time, those will probably hurt a bit. when you put it in, do NOT push from the bottom. hold the grip part, (or bottom of the first half) and push in. THEN you push the bottom part in. it might take a few tampons until you get it right, but youll get it. my first time i actually took a TINY bit of vaseline and put it on the top of the tampon, it made it easier. goodluck, and hope you have fun swimming tomorrow! :)
