Exercise (even if its just a short 20 minute walk), Ibuprofen works well, and so does Midol- it helps to control fatigue and bloating that you also get around the time of the month. I also find heating pads and hot baths to be beneficial. Hope this helps you in some way! :o)
you may have a hot water bag compressed on your front pelvic area...or.you may lay in prone position with a pillow bellow ur pelvis.this is what i do..and at least it reeduces pain
I use medication. Some people don't seem to like it but it works so well for me, and it's not risky if you only use it for a couple of days once a month. The brands here are Naprogesic and Ponstan; I don't know what they're called where you are, but the first one is medication called Naproxin. Ask at your pharmacy; it's available over the counter. You can also try normal painkillers like Panadol/Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, but they might not work as well. Other pain reducing remedies were mentioned above: exercise (although generally people aren't feeling that well enough to do it), orgasm (apparently stimulates blood flow to the area, go figure), stretching and heat like hot water bottles, baths...also avoid tight clothing like tight jeans, things tight around your waste.
If your pain is really bad, you might like to consider seeing your doctor as it could indicate other problems.
I read an article saying eating eggs, milk and nuts will be able to reduce the pain.Hope it works.
Body relaxation exercises.
Excercise works wonders. Just getting up and walking places. I was in Japan once (I swear, they walk EVERYWHERE) and got my period on the trip, and just walking back and forth to the subway station and to a few restaurants reduced my pain like mad.
As for meds, Advil thins out your blood (i.e. you will bleed more), so I would suggest Motrin. That always works for me.
As for simple home remedies, lying down on your bed, stretched out, and often listening to music soothes and relaxes the pain, and a shower shower or bath cleans you out and relaxes you.
Good luck, love.
Drink green tea and take deep breaths.
