THey can cause irritations. Make sure you are clean down there. Maybe rotate regular undies every other day..or just wear G-strings on special occasions.

If you have a yeast infection - usually from wearing tight jeans - then a g-string does make it more likely that the yeast infection will also affect your anus too.
Wearing tight pants causes more problems than the g-string does.

Infections can be avoided by washing with anti-bacterial soap, and wiping from front to back. Also, I've found that going pee before and after sex helps avoid UTI's.
because the part of the string that touches your butt, can also touch your vagina and all that poop bacteria can get inside of you.
