It could be ovulation. After your cycle, about 2 weeks, you ovulate and that can cause some pain for people. I have pain during ovulation, and that could be your problem. If you have really bad cramps and a really heavy cycle, you could always go to the doctor. There are birth control pills that cut down on heavy cycles, and you could also ask the doctor about the pain you are having when not on your cycle. Good luck to you! :)
If you're that worried, you really need to go to a doctor. You don't have to go with your mum to the doctors office, your cousin can probably take you, or you can go alone.

I'm sure there are not many [if any at all] doctors on here, so no one besides a doctor will be able to tell you what's going on.
You should go to the doctors. Ask to see a female doctor or the practice nurse. I used to be really bad with my periods and the doctors used to say that it will be better when I've had children. Trust me THEY LIED. Anyway, there is medication called Mefenamic Acid. Its brill for slowing down the flow and as they are muscle relaxers, they will also help with the pain. I got them for my daughter and they really work.
The birth control pills are a good idea. You really need to see a doctor.Tell your mom that you got your period and youneed to see the doctor. She will understand. I had very good periods back then they were very light no pain. Then I had severe pain, cramps, slight pain during intercorse and I went to the doctors when I was 28 and found out that I had HPV or know as cervical cancer and had to have a hysterectomy ASAP I had it for quite sometime.I am recovered for a year now.I would suggest to get to the doctor. This may bring you close to your mom.If you want something confidential the DR can keep that secret from mom unless you will cause harm to your self or others.Let us know what happens...
I'm sorry to break it to ya luv, but you really do need to see your GP. Cramping pain in the lower abdomen could be many different things from very minor to very serious. Be brave and get checked.
If you're 13, you should have a regular ob-gyn by now. If it's your first time, don't be nervous. They're professionals who understand your body and can help.

Tell your mom you have trouble with your period and cramping and ask if she'll make you an appointment with her gynocologist.

Endometriosis runs in my family. The big symptoms are very bad menstural cramps and long periods. The long term effects are scarring in the uterus that can cause problems when you're older and want to have children.

I was embarassed to talk to my mom when I was 13 and my period was lasting 2-3 weeks and I could barely stand up straight when having cramps. But when I did tell her, she started listing off all of my aunts and cousins who had the same problem.

And you know what the solution was? They put me on birth control pills! The hormones regulated my period and eased the cramping. I didn't even take Mydol anymore!

And then, when I became sexually active, I didn't need to have that ackward talk with my mom or my doctor, because I'd already been on the pill for years! ;)

And then when I was married and had kids, I didn't have any of the problems or complications that some of my cousins who'd waited to get help ended up having.

Remember. All women have a period. All of us. It's what makes you a woman. And every one of us has had trouble with something of this nature at some point. You arn't alone, and you don't need to be embarassed.

Good luck. I hope you feel better!
