Other alternatives:

Lots of water (and no caffine)

a jog/other workout during my break

My pharmasist mother with her chronic headaches gives me her drugs (muhahahaha- even my ibuprofen is supersized)

putting my head between my legs and attempting to do the splits (don't know if that helps but it all the blood rushing to my head helps distract me)
Have you tried those patches that you stick on your tummy and they warm up? It's like a heating pad but you can wear them under your clothes. You can buy them at a ton of places. Walmart, walgreens, even dollar stores. Hope you feel better!
Actually if ibuprofen doesn't work you could try Midol or Pamprin. Both of these medications are specifically for PMS and Menstrual Cramps. Also they have new disposable heating pad that you can place either on your stomach or back depending where your having cramping. I hope this helps!
that same thing happened to me..so i stopped usin that cuz it doesnt work fast enuff...my dad gave me Aleve and it worked lyk a charm!!
Warm tea, milk, even warm water, but avoid coffee! Midol and Pamprin work relatively well, but I found their effectiveness wore off after a few months. Other than that, if the pain gets too bad, go home sick, get a hot water bottle and go to bed!
