Question:

Answers:
YES! H.I.P.P.A. laws gives you the right to doctor-patient privacy. Your doctor can only tell your parents any medical information only if your live is in danger. Talk to your doctor in the examining room (when you parents are not around)!
They might be able to tell, it all depends. But the best thing is to not worry about it and just go to check on your health.
Yeah, if you ask your doctor not to tell your parents it's doctor/patient privelaged information, which means if you don't want your parents to know then they don't have the right to tell them.
yes you can
it's doctor patient confidentiality(sp?)
but you absolutly want to tell the gyno that you've had sex because then if you lie and theys see that you are, they have the right to tell your parents
Three words: Doctor, Patient Confidentiality!
Gynecologists deal with this all of the time. In addition to doctor-patient confidentiality, they know you don't want your parents to know. Don't sweat it, and take care of yourself.
Yes because of Hippa. It's a patients rights thing. Anything a person tells a doctor cannot be told to anyone else. You could tell that doctor that you've messed with all the guys on your street and he couldn't say a thing to your folks!
It depends on what state you are in. I live in Texas, and 17 is considered 'adult.' But if a doctor says something to your parents, when by law, you are an adult, you can sue them, for not keeping doctor-patient confidentality. So, no doctor would probably say anything.

But if your state considers 18 to be adult, then legally they could or could not. The doctor would consider YOUR health first, if there is a necessity for that, and ignore confidentality wishes. But if there is nothing pressing, the doctor would probably respect you choice.

Basically, it is up to the doctor you have!! =)

Hoped that helped!!
Indeed you can! They cannot tell anything to anyone about a patient, no matter what the age.
