Girl health help! Please?

Question:
Ok, my little cousin is worried about this, and I don't know either. Ok, my little cousin is 14 years old and she hasn't started her period. Now, she only weighs about 82 pounds. And she's about 5ft tall. I'm telling you this bc I hear weight and height could have something to do with it. So, is her not starting her period at this age a problem? Thanks!

Answers:
Weight can have an effect on when you start your period. Usually when a girl hits about 100 pounds their body recognizes this somehow and starts preparing for puberty. Also if she participates in a lot of athletics being physically active can make it so her period will start later for her. My 10 year old step daughter hit 100 pounds about 2 years ago and started her period a month after her 10th birthday, so I firmly believe that the weight has something to do with this.
some people don't start until they're 17 it's fine, and she seems to be skinny, so that can have something to do with it
she shouldn't have anything to worry about
Well, she is a little on the small side for her age, but honestly her not starting her period is totally normal. my best friend is 14 and shes gunna be 15 in a few months and she still doesnt have her period. it happens to different people at differnt times. i really think she has nothing to worry about
no, its not a problem shes fine most girls start between 9-16 no need to worrie shell start when her body is ready and she sound kinda little to be 14 but tell her i said good luck
Tell her to enjoy not having it. It it perfectly fine being that she is so thin.
She is perfectly normal and lucky
Every woman/girl is different. With her weight so low, yes this could have a major impact on the fact that she hasn't started menstruating yet. She needs to go to the Dr and maybe see a gynaecologist. You sound as though you can help her. Go with her or tell her mum. She is lucky to have such a concerned cousin looking out for her.

Let her know that there is nothing to be embarrassed about and the Dr will be able to help her. Some women don't start their period until they are 16, however, try not to worry her as starting later can be a sign of endometriosis.

Hope this helps, good luck and have a great day/night!

Hey i am 12 and i have had my period recently i weigh 82 pounds and i am 5"1 maby shes a late bloomer or just some girls are that way!
She wont start until she has enough body fat! Her body is telling her that she could support a baby! She is skinny so as soon as she puts on some weight she will probably start!

Also is she very physical (athlete, gymnast?) B/c my friend didn't start until she stopped training so much @ age 17!!

So I'd say she is normal!
so wat im 13 yrs old and i dont have it yet
