How long does it take for an ovarian cyst to go away?

Question:
last month on my cycle about half way through it i was in horrible pain on my left side. i had a ct scan and they said it was an ovarian cyst and it would go away on it's own. well after my cycle was over i felt perfectly well. this month on my cycle i have the same pain on the left side and my cycle is over, but the pain is still throbbing from time to time. i'm on 800 mg of ibuprofen. is it the same cyst from the month before or do i have a serious problem? i'm only 14.

Answers:
It is possible that is the same cyst.
If you have reoccuring problems with cysts and pain like this, you probably need to be put on birth control. Birth control drastically lowers your risk of having painful cysts.
Most cysts go away on their own, but some grow bigger and bigger until they burst (and they hurt really bad, trust me I've had it happen). I had to be put on birth control when I was 13 because of something like this.
You need to talk to your doctor or gynocologist again. :) I hope everything gets worked out OK.
it will gradually go away if they said so
dont do too much heavy lifting and it propabbly is the cyst
Hi, please don't worrie, im sure your doctor would of given you some advice. if your still having pain and are still taking painkillers i would go back to your doctor.
