Can weight loss pills taken at an early age affect a women's pregnancy later on?

Question:

Answers:
I don't think so. When I was in my late teens I took diet pills for a while and have had 3 healthy children since.

You should be fine.
.
No
please dont take it.. just do a normal and natural diet . u will be safe and also your baby..
Who knows? A few years down the line the FDA could say "blah-blah" is dangerous and anyone who has taken it could develop blindness...I mean first they said eggs were bad, now they're good again. As with anything do it in moderation.
No diet pill could affect your pregnancy unless it contains certain drugs. But i wouldn't recommend taking them, diet pills are just a fad and dont work, i would suggest eating sensibly more than anything x
Weight loss pills are so relatively new that I don't believe research has been done to prove or disprove your question.
Maybe because some of them affect the heart and blood vessels.
First off, weight loss pills are NOT relatively new, they have been around for decades. Of course today they are regulated more (but not without errors). Back in the 60s speed was given as a diet pill but no one was none the wiser then. Today there are three main weight loss categories:

1. Appetite Suppressants that promote weight loss by tricking the body into believing that it is not hungry or that it is full. They decrease appetite by increasing serotonin or catecholamine -- two brain chemicals that affect mood and appetite. This is not without it’s drawbacks.

These prescriptions are controlled substances which means the risk of addiction is there. Tolerance can also be developed, which means that after a relatively short time, more of the drug is needed to get the same effects. There are also many side effects including increased heart rate and blood pressure, insomnia, dry mouth, and anxiety. These drugs should only be used short term and your doctor should closely monitor treatment.

2. Cerebral stimulants such as Didrex, Bontril, Melfiat, and Plegine are similar in structure to amphetamines. The actions of these drugs are similar to other appetite suppressants, but with strong side effects and addictive qualities. These will cause a very high increase in blood pressure and heart rate. There is also the possibility of depression and psychotic episodes during withdrawal. Again, these drugs should be taken under strict medical supervision.

3. Fat-absorption inhibitors such as Meridian and Xenical work by preventing your body from breaking down and absorbing fat eaten with your meals. This unabsorbed fat is eliminated in bowel movements. As with all medications, thereare side effects. Some side effects include gas with discharge, an urgent need to go to the bathroom, oily or fatty stools, an oily discharge and spotting, increased number of bowel movements and the inability to control bowel movements. These side effects are generally mild and temporary, but may be worsened by eating foods that are high in fat.

You should never be on a diet or take diet pills while pregnant but the jury is still out of effects on your body years down the road. Remember fen phen? Better not to chance it.
