I know my pediatrician actually asked me if I used them. If you've started your menstrual cycle (which i'm guessing you have). She might have some questions for you about your usual cycle and symptoms. However, if she doesn't mention it, just ask, 'What is your thoughts on girls my age using tampons?' I'm guessing you're still young, so your doctor shouldn't have any trouble answering that question. Hope this helps and good luck to you!
You don't need to ask a doctor about tampons. The instruction booklet that comes in the box is quite informative. It coveres basically everything a doctor could tell you.
It's your freakin' pediatrician. You should be able to ask the anything from colds to sex. Just blurt it out.
I never asked a doctor, I asked my mom. I also read the instructions inside the tampon box. Just ask, "Can you give me some information about tampons?"
i would first ask my mom about it
then ask the doc
i would feel more comfortable with my mom actually out of the room
but you do have to realize that he's trained in that kind of thing and those questions are typical for him
dont be nervous
just ask

Doctors and nurses are pretty numb to seeing and hearing things that other people find embarassing or weird. After so many years in school learning about weird body functions and seeing it at work every day, it just becomes normal. So no, your doctor isn't going to think your crazy or even weird for asking. They'll probably be impressed that you had the courage to, and then they'll teach you everything you could ever want to know about them. Don't worry, part of doctor's and nurses' job description is educating their patients, so ask away! =) And if you can't work up the guts to ask your pediatrician, your mom, older sister, friend's older sister, aunts or cousins have most likely all delt with them, so you could try asking them too. Good luck!
ask your mom. if she doesn't use tampons, ask her if she'll bring it up when she takes you to the doctor
How about asking your doctor what methods of menstrual protection they recommend for a girl your age. If they only recommend maxi pads, ask why. If they say both, then ask for more details, or tell them you are thinking of tampons.
Their reaction will more than likely be to tell you not to sleep in them and to change them often. It has been said they are safe to wear overnight now, but you are still obviously young and do not need to worry about TSS now.
It is almost always uncomfortable to ask a doctor about things "personal" but that is why they are there. I am sure that you are not the first or last person that will ask them the very same questions.
Just ask i have started my period are tampons okay to use. It is uncomfortable the first time you use it make sure it is all the way in but after it is SOOOOOOOO much better trust me my friend di she loves it you feel like yous not acull yon your period u just try not to forget
you don't have to ask your doctor just ask your mom!!
tampons are as available as toothpaste. you can find them almost anywhere. tampons are safe, and effective at period protection. you do not need to ask your doctor. if you have any specific concern, just call your local pharmacy for help and answers. they would be more than happy to help!!
There is NOTHING that you could ask your doctor that he hasn't already heard from another patient. Trust me, by lunch time, he will have forgotton that you even asked. If I asked the doctor, I would say "I have been thinking that I would like to try to use tampons instead of pads, do you think that is a bad idea?". You could ask the nurse instead.
If possible, you should try to talk to your mom, a friends mom , an aunt, a school nurse or some other adult that you feel close to.
There are different sizes of tampons, some are just for teens. I would buy those. There will be instructions in the box, along with a diagram. Be sure to follow the instructions, though. Before inserting a tampon, you should be relaxed--if you are tense, it will be uncomfortable.
