When you are 5ft10 and size 10, I think you can say 'to hell with what the charts tell you!'! lol
The problem with those charts is they don't take into account your build, bone density or muscle mass.these are factors that will all affect your weight but not make you 'overfat'.
If you are still worried, you could have someone at the gym check your body fat percentage for you. Keeping your body fat percentage below 30% is considered healthy (body fat percentage not to be confused with body mass index).
It sounds to me as though you are in a great place with your physical self. Enjoy!
muscle weighs alot more than body fat
i checked ur BMI its says ur in normal weight besides im 11 a pant size 9 i weigh 128 and im 5'5" thats not normal though my BMI says im in tip-top good weight LIKE URS!!
im 5'5 and i weigh 125lbs. so i would say you are healthy for your size. i can wear from zero to a six depending where im shopping. you should also keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat.
If you eat healthily and you get a decent amount of exercise, then you dont need to be bothered by it. those charts are retarted. i pretty much work out all day long at my job, and i eat very healthy, but im still " overweight" according to the chart. i dont care, i know im healthy, my dr says im healthy.so only lose weight if thats what you want, not because of some chart.
I'm an even 6' tall. (Female!) and I weigh about 175.. I also wear about a size 10..
I used to be much heavier. I worry a lot about how much I weigh, but my doctor told me that I really did not need to lose anymore. That at six feet, I was in a healthy range for my weight.
When I tell people how much I weigh.they always go, "NO WAY!" "You don't look like you weigh that much!" Etc..
If you're comfortable and healthy, to Hell with what everyone else thinks. I need to take my own advice. ;)
Also. *high five* Amazons rule. ;)
It sounds healthy to me! & besides you work out, so i doubt you have any health problems :)
you sound healthy to me. i was 170 at 5.7 and looked healthy... don't go by those stupid charts... i'd be looking like the walkin dead if i did.
You should see your doctor for a better idea. I'm 5'10 and weigh about 135 lbs and am a size 7. We all come in different shapes and sizes.
Muscle weighs a lot more than fat, so if you're athletic, you probably have nothing to worry about. The BMI is just a general guideline. People who are very muscular and atheletic and people who have freakishly small bones for being so tall can go right out and ignore the thing. Take care of yourself and your health first.
Talking to your doctor would give you a better idea of what you should weigh and also any dietary/exercise changes that you may need to make. Obesity and being overweight is a growing epidemic in North America and your doctor should be happy to talk to anyone who cares about their health.
