Another girly question about tampons sorry really gross.?

Question:
I have another question about tampons . . . sorry but it is just embarrassing. Ok I use Tampax Pearl lites and they work really well on the light days of my period, but on the one day that it is the heaviest they give me problems. On the only heavy day of my period I can leave one in for up to 8 hours and it will still be hard to take out and it will only have blood on one side of the tampon and hurts to take out. But the string will have blood on it and it will start to leak even after about 7 hours even though the actual tampon part isn't full, it only has blood on one side, and is hard to get out. Why does that happen? Am I getting it in at a wrong angle or something? Please answer I don't know what I should do, I don't know if I should change it more often or use a bigger one but it isn't full enough to get out well, but I don't want to leak either. Thanks!

I second the suggestion to try OB tampons, specifically the SilkEase variety. They're thinner and easier to insert and remove because of the outer layer. Yeah, there's no applicator, but they're extremely easy to get used to.
You're only supposed to leave them in for 4 hours, and preferably change them every 2 hours. If you change it this often, it shouldn't be a problem. It's jsut taht you're leaving them in too long and they are absorbing too much blood.

If you leave them in for longer you're at risk for Toxic Shock Syndrome (or something like that..)

Edit: Changed word. Haha.
You should change your tampon every four hours at minimum or you are at risk to develop Toxic Shock Syndrome.
you might put it in a t angle so it goes in at a angle.
Tampax is notorious for leaking like that because they did it with me. It has nothing to do with how you're placing it, it is how it's made and expands.

Get Playtex gentle glide. They have never leaked on me and work like they're supposed to. They usually place themselves on insertion correctly.
You are probably putting them in okay, if you can't feel it when its in it should be fine-
The problem with it hurting is that the cotton is sticking to your insides-I ahve had tampax leak the same way too.
You might want to consider a different type of tampon-I like OB as they have a special covering over the cotton that keeps it from sticking and hurting when it is removed- but OB doesn't have an applicator, so you have to be comfortable with touching yourself, they are very tiny and short, and work pretty good.
I stopped using them for that same reason, however i also agree with everyone else, you should change them every 4 to 6 hours, 8 is a bit too long, Also i learned about a new product, i havent tried it yet, but since your flow is light, you may consider them, They are called Instead, look them up online to learn more about them. It is difficult to explain them, it is like a rubbery cup thing that you use and it collects everything rather then absorbed into a sponge, its easier to insert and take out. And there actually is this product out there. I work at CVS and they sell them. It was a very interesting box to read. Other wise, use OB tampons, i find them work the best of Tampax sport, they absorb nicely as well!
that is one heck of a light period. You might be able to get away with just a panti liner on some days. If it hurts bad to get it out, you can rub a little bit of vaceline around your vagina and a little on the inside before you slide it out.
