Okay people, I'm going to ask a really gross question?
Question:
I have a blue-green discharge coming from my right nipple. It's been there since my daughter stopped feeding, almost 15 years ago. At first it was in both breasts but it's been only in the right one for years now.
Does anyone have any idea what might cause this? Like I said, it's really disgusting. Please help. And please don't tell me to go see a doctor because I've seen numerous doctors and they have no answers for me.
Answers:
Here read all of it but your answer is mostly in the Should I be worried about nipple discharge? section
hope it helped
=)
A greenish discharge, however, can represent an inflammation of the breast ducts called mammary duct ectasia. Ectasia is a benign condition but it is still a good idea to see a breast surgeon about it because occasionally some excision of the ducts needs to be done or there are coexistent breast cysts or abscesses that need to be removed. Instead of seeing a doctor, try to locate a surgeon in your area who does a lot of breast work.
maybe cancer? idk
Don't freak out, but I read once that discharges from the nipple of that color might be related to mestatic breast cancer. See a surgeon and get it checked out. Like I said, I read it once, so I might be wrong, okay?
The only thing I can think that would be causing a nipple discharge after breast-feeding would be a breast infection, which is somewhat common for mothers. I've never heard of it lasting for "years" though. I wish I had a home-remedy solution for you, but I don't. I was going to say go see a doctor. What did your doctors say? I doubt they would turn you away without any type of answers or at the least a referral to another doctor. And, if all the doctors you have seen really haven't been able to help you, what makes you think you'll find a diagnosis on here?
I do hope that it all works out for you though!
My sister breast-fed as well, but I don't recall her having this problem. There could be a problem with your mamory glads. I wouldn't have gone to just any doctor, doctors that specialize in the female body would be the best, because obviously that's what they do all day. Is it bright, or dark? Thin, thick? It could be a bacteria in there. I'd definately seek someone who knows about cancer and cancer treatments.
