I have the flu...?

Question:
I know I can't cure it, but how can I at least feel better? Don't suggest medicine, because I'm basically allergic to everything, and not willing to take medicine. Oh and how exactly do people get the flu? I heard you get it from other people, but I haven't been out of my house for a while, and haven't been with anyone who has the flu.

Answers:
This is the advice I follow and also give my patients: cut out all sugar from your diet (including atrificial sweeteners), drink a rediculous amount of water, cut out processed foods, get plenty of rest, get adjusted. These are the things that will give your immue system a big boost. The biggest thing is cutting out the sugar. Think about it. When does flu season really kick in? In January and February. Why? Well, after pigging out at Thanksgiving, going to holiday parties, eating Christmas cookies, and boozing it at New Year's, our immune systems crash, hard. People don't get the flu just because they came in contact with someone who has it. If that were true, then the flu outbreaks would affect 100% of the local population, not 5%. You will only get the flu if your immune system is weak. Do the things mentioned above, and you will crank up your immune system.
There is an incubation period for any virus, and you likely picked it up from someone you came in contact with even several days prior.
Hope this helps.
There are teas out there that you can try here is a site
Alka Seltzer cold tablets are really good, so are Airborne tablets. Make your bed nice and comfy, put on your favorite jammies (the ones you wouldn't be caught dead in around your boyfriend) and snuggle up with a cup of tea and the television. =) Hope you feel better soon!
