I took ortho for about 6 months, and yes i did one time make it so my period did not land on the day it was suppose to. But, it will make you feel horrible. I felt so bloated and cramped still, it would have been better to have my period then to skip it. Now i dont take any of the pills, it was a personal choice for me because i didnt like the added hormones in my system. Now 3 months after not taking the pill my period is still not regular, and my body still is messed up from it all. My suggestion, let it be, take the sugar pills, and just have your flow. Its a part of life, and i promise you school will be fine.
My best medical advice, it will mess your system up. The pills are made with a gradually decreasing amount of hormones that basically make your body think you are pregnant, hence not allowing you to actually conceive. When you get close to having your period the hormones are at their lowest and it is preparing your body to have your cycle. The sugar pills are just reminder pills for you, and they allow your body to release everything. When you skip and go right into taking ortho, it will basically give your body the highest amount of hormones again, and the dead uterine tissues that get released each month will stay in your body. It can cause you a higher chance at infections and such. I hope this helps.
When you switch from one birth control pill to another it will make your cycle off as if it is the first time taking the pill. You should take the pills as prescribed. This exact same thing happened to my daughter when she changed from one brand to another. I do not know how long you have been on the yasmin pill but I am glad you are switching. A friend of mine was taking yasmin and now she has an ovarian tumor, her doctor said it was caused from the birth control.
Yes that will work. Just skip the placabos and start the next pill cycle.
