Were you raised on hormone filled foods & when did you start your period?
Question:
I was curious if there really may be a correlation or if family history still rules. I was 13 but I'm not sure how many hormones were in the food when I was young either.
Answers:
if your a meat eater then most likely ingested hormone raised animals, particularly beef, pork and poultry, it has been common practice for many years to maximize animal weight in shortest period of time, thus increasing profits, I personally believe this has much to do with obesity problem in America, but I'm not sure there is enough evidence to conclude one way or the other in reference to early or late development but I believe it is in favor of developing earlier for those on hormone raised animals!
i was 9 and mom cooked everything fat food and good food my aunt fed her kids pasta for there whole child hood( almost) and they started at 15 and 16 so who knows
i eat meat and drink milk with hormones since i was born

well.... when I was younger.... I had two girl cousins that were two years older than me. I wanted to be like them SO bad.... particularly the one I saw most. (I spent so much time trying to act older and cooler. I still act older than my age.) ... she had her period. Well I heard something about that too. My milk was like normal milk,... filled with hormones. the night i found out about that, I started drinking like at least 3 or 4 glasses of milk a day. guess what? like a little less than a year lator, I started. at the age of TEN.! sucked for me, I should have waited......... ha
Parents cooked most of the food but i'm sure it had plenty of hormones in it, as thats how everything seems to be. I'm vegetarian now, but got my period at 14 and a half.
I also heard that if you watch a lot of TV you go through puberty earlier cause ti releases chemical.
I don't drink water or soda so I drink at least 4 or 5 glasses of milk every day. I got my period at about 13 1/2 so I don't think that milk or other foods really effects anything, sorry!
