Can skipping a month of birth control delay my period?

Question:
I took YAZ for about 6-8 months before I had to stop taking it because I ran out of deductible on my insurance. My period should have came about 5-10 days ago. But I'm not sure if my period didn't come because I stopped taking birth control. I took a pregnancy test about a week ago and it came out negative. I might take one again to be sure. But could my whole birth control skipping contribute a missed period?

Answers:
it takes a few months to get regular again
Yes, not good
It will, if you get pregnant.
If you stop taking it, it messes up your period. Carry pads/tampons around with you for now.
Yes for 9 months.
