I assumed a period went for only 1 day every month (28 days or so) not a few days or week, I seem to be wrong?
Question:
Answers:
Periods can last anywhere between 3 and 5 days, with some women having it occur up to 7 days. Any bleeding that lasts 10 or more days straight needs to be evaluated by a doctor.
the average period last 3-7 days. have u ever had a period that only lasted 1 day?
You assumed wrong. Women wish it only lasted one day. And I agree, your school sure fell down on the job!
OH my. What did they teach you?! If we could all be so lucky to only have one day!
Are you sure they didn't say once a month (or every 28 days)? MOST last about 4-7 days. Maybe you just misheard what they said? I hope that's all, and that they really weren't teaching that!
If someone taught you that, they should be fired! On the average, a period lasts about 5-7 days. Every 28 days is correct. But some women have 30-day cycles. Every body is different. :)
Actually, a period can last quite a few days. I know a few women whose bleeding lasts for a week or slightly longer.
Whats important is to realise what is normal for you, so that if you find your own pattern changing a lot, you can go and see the doctor about it.
A period is also not necessarily every 28 days, some women have them every 6 weeks, and some even longer. Some women do conform to the regular 1-per-calendar-month pattern, but this is neither better or worse than a different experience.
It is not at all unusual for your periods to be very irregular when you first start menstruating.
A period will last between 3-7 days. The teachers at your school were wrong.
