Terrified of my physical?
Question:
My question is,Im a girl and I heard physicals for girls(pap smear)
tests are horrific.Im going into eigth; and even though its a year away(ill be 13-14)What can I expect?
And please,tell me i dont have to get a pap smear test??

You are too young for a pap smear now unless you have had sex.
When you do get one, there is nothing to be afraid of. It's easy.
no you dont need a pap smear unless your doctor says you should or if you want like birth control
its good to get one though
they tell you if anythings wrong with you and its not that bad
you will not need a pap smear at your age. It is most unlikely you will have to expose your genitals at all. Please ask what is involved in this physical. They will check ht and wt and hearing and sight and may take a waist measurement and listern to yr lungs. That's all.

at a physical they just basically make sure you're healthy,
like taking your blood pressure
check your breathing
they hardly touch you
and they ask you to lay down, you lift one leg and you push your leg down on their hand
and the same with your arms... (atleast they did that with me)

He lied to you. You arent forced to get a pap smear just to go into a higher grade in school. Thats just bullcrap. You do have to get some minor Hep A & B shots if you havent already had them done in middle school & occasionally in highschool you have a nurse check your back for back problems. I was 19 before I had my first pap smear and it was for birth control.

Relax, you do not have to get a pap test for high school most girls dont get one until they are sexually active and then just to get on birth control pills or in the case of to confirm a pregnancy. I think what the boy was talking about was a checkup or a physical if you plan on playing sports in school.
